A Special Economic Zone is a geographical region that has more liberal economic laws than a country’s typical economic laws. SEZ’s are aimed at stimulating foreign direct investment (FDI) and rapid, export-led, industrial growth. The paper tries to assess the relevance of SEZ in development of India’s regions and the impact of on the economy. This paper made use of descriptive research that involved the synthesis of information from secondary sources to portray the attributes of a current phenomenon.
