The Arab world has seen an increase in protests, strikes and demonstrations with the uprising of the Arab Spring that started in late 2010. In the case of Jordan, the country has seen a wave of protests, some of which were spurred by the harsh economic conditions, others by political events. This short reports looks at the various challenges facing the Jordanian economy throughout the years. The report will also briefly discuss the country’s GCC accession with emphasis on Saudi Arabia’s contribution of US$ 1.25 billion.
